'Born This Way' - flop or not?

It has now been 8 months since Interscope pulled 'Marry The Night' from US radio, marking the end of the 'Born This Way' era, and Lady Gaga's time in the spotlight. Since then, Lady Gaga has taken a break to record her brand new album, due for release in 2013, and has begun the first leg of her now, record breaking, world tour. Since Gaga's break, an increased number of ATRL members have taken it upon themselves, ignorantly, to deem the 'Born This Way' era a "flop", and have also said that Lady Gaga is "fading," and that her career is "over." So, do you think that the 'Born This Way' era was a flop? Take a look at the receipts from the era, and decide for yourself...
Quote:
Born This Way era worldwide single sales (thank you HausofA-M) http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.php?t=175622
Born This Way - 8.5M
Judas - 2.5M
The Edge Of Glory - 5M
Yoü And I - 2.5M
Marry The Night - 1M
Total BTW era single sales - 19,500,000

Total record sales from the 'Born This Way' era - 25,500,000 records sold.

In addition to these great record sales, which made 'Born This Way' the second best selling album worldwide in 2011, after Adele's unstoppable '21', Lady Gaga has also begun her world tour, which has sold out dates across Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, which of course, supports the 'Born This Way' album; and despite Gaga's contemparies obvious success, she still remains the most followed person on Twitter, the third most 'liked' person on Facebook and out of her current contemparies, remains one of the most awarded artists.
In addition, many have been quick to claim that the general public has simply "forgotten" about Lady Gaga. However, a quick search on Twitter using the phrase "where is Lady Gaga?", will show you thousands of tweets over the past few days asking that exact question.
So, do you still consider the 'Born This Way' era a flop, or, seeing as it's more successful than a handful of other pop artist's current/past era's, do you think that it was, in fact, a successful era?

NO.
Combined it was the most successful recent era other than 21. TD, TTT, FF, and the like were not as successful - TD is the only one that's even arguable.

Not a flop at all.
One single not going top ten doesn't sabotage everything else about the era.

Underperformed but definitely not a flop. If it is a flop I pray for everyone elses careers cuz they must be flatlining.

Successful, just not as much as everyone thought.
Doesn't mean it did horribly.

Nah. The album sold 5 million worldwide, of course the era didn't 'flop'.
It did however damage her career a great deal.

I'm waiting for them to make their way into this thread, because, believe it or not, there are certain members from certain stanbases on ATRL, that constantly call it a flop, and say that it's caused Gaga to become, I quote, "irrelevant."

Seeing as a day doesn't go by without someone being compared to Gaga Born This Way has solidified her as an icon.
Love it or hate it, it has been constantly around since it's release while other albums that were released months after have all but vanished.

Flop in the long run But really, not because of it's performance, because the album was one of the top three sellers, but just a lackluster era compared to previous. Bad videos, bad singles, bad album. It was more of a disappointment than a flop.
EDIT: I accidentally voted Flop
