Nick Jonas and Pharrell Williams are in talks to be the newest judges on the Fox singing competition, Us Weekly reports. The former Disney star and N.E.R.D. rapper are the frontrunners to take over for Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson.

If both deals go through, the pair could bring a much younger demographic to Idol, which is heading into its 12th season.

They were talking about it on the radio station, that's what made me look it up. I was surprised.

Nothing against Nick but I don't see him doing this.. but probably this is true. the X-factor got Demi so.

It doesn't seem like a fit for him. He seems really introverted. I think he'd be knowledgeable though.

It kind of makes sense. Each would relate to a completely different genre. Pharrell would know the production side, Mariah the singing, and Joe would relate to what it takes to be successful as a teen.

I'm surprised to hear Nick being considered for this. But I guess since X-Factor got Demi, this could be an ok idea. Nick is an amazing singer/songwriter so I'd be here for it.
