at two of the biggest music shows of year: The Grammy's and The VMA's.
Perhaps an indicator that it's time for someone new take the spot.

You've called her pretentious, and yet you have the nerve to compare yourself to Nostradamus? Please. Everyone very well knows the BTW era was an underperformance overall, and considering it was over by the Grammys and had Adele to compete with, it makes perfect sense she didn't win there. As for the VMA's, she's not attending. Since she would almost definitely win any voted award she was nominated for, they would not nominate her anyway if she won't be there to accept an award. Either way both videos were severely hindered by one being unfollowable and out of chronological order and the other having a billion-hour introduction.
Nobody is going to take a spot that they cannot handle and that is not vacant. She's on a media blackout and is limiting herself to touring for now. She's even hyping a lot less than last time. You'll see that she's just as relevant once her new era starts, mark my words.

As to whether she's fading: From her once unfathomable heights? Yes, of course. The general public is not going to follow her off the rails on a crazy train. From fame? Not a chance. She still has a very dedicated fan base who is sure to follow her for the rest of her (probably much more modestly successful) career.

Really good post. You summed it up very nicely.
Thanks.

We all know that MTV didn't nominate her because she isn't attending. Anybody that says otherwise is living in denial. But then again, those are probably the people that think that 'Firework' was truly the video of the year.
The VMA's last year made no sense. How come Katy is nominated for Best Video With A Message and Best Female Video for Firework and loses, but then wins the overall Video of the Year?

Death at this post! Now that got absolutely no media
Coverage and it was the video of the ****ing year

Fanity knows where it's at right now
Honestly, i would say she needs a writing camp, top notch producers and the best music video directors out right now, to get back to where she once was, kinda like Rihanna with LOUD. However, I think she is too stubborn or arrogant to accept help and that will be her demise.

You can view the situation both negatively and positively.
Being realistic, there are things that clearly indicate that she isn't exactly heading towards the land of the irrelevants, but ofcourse no one really cares about her like that anymore. She still has enough star power as a performance artist to have abnormally high tour success, but that doesn't really prove that she'll be able to continue to be huge music wise too.Bouncing back isn't an easy thing to do.She'll be really lucky if she's able to even sustain the success of her previous era since it doesn't have half the people interested. It's not all about what kind of material she's putting out and releasing 'fun' music or going back to 'The Fame' kinda image doesn't necessarily ensure success. That's like saying Britney Spears will be big again if she releases BOMT 2.0.

This snub is nothing, we all expected this to happen. Now her snub at the 2011 Grammies was priceless. No Bad Romance for SOTY or ROTY?

Gurl a writing camp? I don't Stan for Rihanna I'm sorry. She just needs to write about more general topics. That's it

I mean everyone knows the ugly whale shaped *** ***** is never gonna be top bitch no matter how many times Dr Luke creams her in exchange for a (local) hit.
It's just distracting from the main non-trolling conversation.

True. It's great if you're a superior artist who can do it on your own. She proved that she's not.
