I wonder how the Jessica stans feel about this

I feel good about this, actually. It's good for the Idol brand that the winner is selling and not flopping. i was only against his win because of past experience with other WGWGs that won and flopped. So if he puts out more material like Home he should be fine because Interscope is a better label then the awful RCA so the Idol winners will do better from now on. Still, I just read about Phillip's album direction and its a bit worrying. Who knows ifhe'll have another hit after Home, it will probably sound alot different. Hell, Taylor Hicks coronation singe was a hit and he went in a completely different direction for his album.

Taylor Hicks won American Idol when the show had a HUGE cultural impact. His first single only had success because he was the newly crowned champion of the biggest show ever in America

Since then, we've seen winners such as Lee Dewyze not even have a smidge of success, because the shows popularity is declining.

So I'd say Phillip's current prospects are a lot higher than Taylor Hicks.

Happy for Phillip's success, still don't agree with his win, as he wasn't that great at singing, but the song is good. But from what he said in interviews, his future songs will not sound like "Home".

Well Lee was the only recent winner who didn'thave some sort of success. Even Kris Allen got a huge hit with Live Like Were Dying, but after that he didn't sadly do anything. David Cook had a huge album era but his second album did nothing.

Still Phillip's said his album will be a rock with jazz/funk influence for his sound on the album - I don'tknow how that will turn out. Rock isn't necessarily huge right now in the first place on the charts. I wish him well though.
