I found the news for quite a while and I was sure that it must have been posted on ATRL. So I came here to read the comments but I couldn't find the thread. Im pretty sure that this is AP coz its a bit old...

“I think it might be advisable to get an English actress, although GaGa has got the look about her. It is something which we might think about.”

Back in December, the 60-year old addressed reports suggesting he had backed the Poker Face star to play Winehouse if a film about the late singer was to be made, telling The Mirror: "I have heard that Lady GaGa is keen to play Amy in a film.

"I don't know what her English accent is like but it's not just an English accent she would have to perfect - it's an English-Cockney-Jewish accent so she better start practising now. But she would be great."

Mitch seems to have changed his tune after previously dismissing any talk of a film about Amy's life, stating: “It would hardly be a biopic without the music and we’d never allow the songs to be released.”

Its kinda weird because that is what she should have done before, not now after his daughter's death. .. I dont know but I just kinda feel like he used his daughter''s death a lot. I don't think Amy would say the same about this, only if she knew.

He acts as if gaga has expressed interest to do so. Anyway gaga used to speak in an english accent for some reason and she's pretty good with accents. It'd be interesting if gaga did do it. She's a trained jazz vocalist so I think she could pull off winehouse.

I read this other day and thought it was ridiculous. If anything, he should be asking whatever film studio wants to make the biopic for the 10 million, not the actress herself, that's so stupid.

I'm also glad I'm not the only one who thinks he seems money hungry and almost loving the press because he spends so much time talking to them.
