Interesting points. But there is also a visual aspect to art and there's nothing wrong with musicians wanting to adapt that to their image. The level of ridicule they receive because of visual expression is proportional to the level of exposure they have. If the artist is mainstream they will eventually cause this sort of articles, be discussed, mocked and used as a vehicle to prove some anti-pop culture authenticity argument. If the artist's "obscure" then it's seen as cool and they can get away with pretty much anything without being looked down upon by their people as long as they don't have much exposure and remain a little secret to a select few.

And that's why "Princess Die" needs to happen.

I always laugh when people try to bring Adele into an argument in an attempt to bring Gaga down. Adele and Gaga have similar vocal ranges and Gaga can sound perfect while doing more than just standing. Adele can't.

Adele is not a dance artist. Adele's appeal transcends generations. She dabbles in a genre that is liked by 20 year olds as well as 80 year olds, whereas Gaga's genre is mainly for the younger crowd. This is common sense and not hard to understand. In no way can you compare Adele with a dance or pop artist. Adele is not a popstar in the typical sense.

Gaga has performed several times without gimmicks and has blown people away.

Jesus, you Madonna fans are the definition of irony. Madonna was put through this same exact scrutiny. People have criticized her artistry for years and have always called her a gimmick like they call Gaga a gimmick. Even now, thirty years later, she is still being criticized for being a gimmick.

Sorry, but you know that's really not true. Nobody really sounds perfect singing while dancing, except for Beyonce. That live mic feed from the SNL Judas performance really shows a lot.
