Yes. And adele's music R&B, Soul, Adult Contemporary, Blues, Neo-soul, **** even Jazz. But pop music? No. Her music is adult AC type of music not top 40 type of music. The ONLY reason she gets any type of top 40 attention is because of her popularity. If she sang the same exact songs and had the popularity of say, Melanie Fiona or Jazmine Sullivan there is no way in the world she'd be considered pop.

Gotye, fun., The Fray, Lady Antebellum, and Lauryn Hill aren't pop, but they incorporate pop influences into their respective genres. The Fugees not so much.

I would like more hip hop on pop radio but it's pretty clear that Top 40 radio is drawing its highest ratings ever playing the type of generic music they are.
