So do we, though? So does Sweden? So does France? So does Germany? I agree with you saying America is the world's melting pot, started with 13 colonies and you guys even had a Dutch one, but there's diversity all over the world. Not just in the U.S.A That's what I'm trying to say.
But America is more diverse, no country comes close to the diversity. If you walk in the country, you will see this. I live in NYC, the most diverse city in the world, and I can hear ten languages by just walking down the street. We don't even have an official language, while you guys do. You also have a majority ethnicity, we don't. You live in Europe, of course it won't be as diverse as the US, or Canada. You don't understand me. those countries pale in comparison. No ethnicity is the majority here, where you are at its Dutch isn't it? And in France is the French, and so one. In America there is none.
We may not be the most intelligent, or the healthiest, but one thing I can say about my country is that we will kick your ass if you **** with us. At the end of the day, those other things don't matter.
Um... neutral I guess. I live in California and I was born in Scotland, so I guess I kinda get both ends of the spectrum when it comes to outside views of the States and how the US sees itself. I don't really like to be the typical omg I hate America I'm ttly gonna move cuz Japan/wherever is better (well this is what I used to commonly see all the time online and it's dumb) or the overly patriotic type, so I just fall in between.
I can see what the problems are with America and there's just a sort of bias that I feel sometimes where I feel like OH NO I wasn't BORN in America so I can just step away from all this criticism for Americans, which isn't really a valid thing to do. And then other times I wanna be patriotic and support America because we are better than other places and it's not like there's gonna be the perfect place where everyone should move ASAP.

Let's just leave at the fact that they think they're fooling anyone with the "We've invaded Iraq for the sake of peace and democracy" ********. Well, guess what the only people that actually believe this are your own population. Stop meddling in everything about the world and start thinking about lowering the average BMI in your country.

I met such amazing people over especially artists.
Of course there is enough negative stuff like healthcare and poverty but still the overall feeling to the USA is love

Neither side of the argument has been represented well at all in this discussion. Both sides have presented arguments with huge, gaping holes, which when called out, get nonsensical responses. And the gross generalizations, stereotypes, and oversimplifications are just repulsive in here. Both sides have been arrogant. This thread has been like watching fundamentalist Christians arguing against equally pushy atheists. You get nowhere and neither side ends up looking good.
I'm American. I'm not very patriotic. Is patriotism wrong? No. I don't hate my country. I'm not in love with it either. Is it the perfect country? No. For some, it is. We're throwing around subjective terms attempting to give them some objective base. Each country has its pros and cons. Whichever country best fulfills your main concerns are the best...for you.
And the population/size/spread argument is not a throwaway, faulty one either. It is completely valid. If you want to make valid comparisons, you have to accommodate for valid circumstances and factors.

America is usually isolated, and will un-isolate itself if it feels a situation will threaten it. I know the war there is for oil, going in there will help oil come here.

Well, I'm from Norway and most of us feels like US is like "the best place you can go to". I think we view it pretty positively. There are some less-positive feeling about the US I think, but I think most of the population here likes the US. But some Americans think Norway are the capital of Sweden and that's just
