Open Road Films has revealed the trailer for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, hitting theaters on October 26.
Written and directed by Michael J. Bassett, the film stars Adelaide Clemens, Sean Bean, Kit Harington, Radha Mitchell, Deborah Kara Unger, Carrie-Ann Moss, Malcolm McDowell, Martin Donovan and Heather Marks.
In "Revelation," Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father (Bean) have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn't fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she's not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her forever.
So 6 years later and we're finally getting a sequel.
I feel like the first movie was very underrated. It was creepy, but not in a "jump-out-of-your-seat" kind of way. Remained pretty faithful to the games, too.

I agree. The first was bashed by my friends but I enjoyed it. I agree about the whole setting being creepy it adds chills in watching it. I hope the second one is better.
I love Silent Hill games! It's one of the best series I've ever played.
About time we're getting a sequel, I loved the first movie I haven't played a Silent Hill game in my life, so I don't really care if it doesn't 'follow the story' of the games, as long as it's good I'll see it lol. This one looks tons more frightening than the first movie too.
Does the story of the father and daughter have any relation to the first movie?
As a big fan of the games, I felt like the first movie is very inaccessible to the general public. It was hard for a lot of friends of mine to understand just exactly wtf was going on when we saw it, but if you have some knowledge of the games it does make it easier. It definitely has its creepy moments though. I'm hoping this one keeps it creepy and makes the story a little easier to decipher. Judging from this trailer, it looks pretty good so I have high hopes!

the mother from the first film did not exist in the video games.

the names that they'll be using are just to cover up who they really are.
I do hope they put some more depth into it. The movie (while good) didn't go nearly as in depth as the game did. The game details every monster, situation and scenario and parlays it back to the main character. How silent hill parallels real life horrors and manifests itself into something terrible.
