Country fans will most likely be disappointed if the lead single won't have a country feel to it. I can deal with Pop songs, I don't know with her original fanbase.

I think the biggest reason why people don't have Speak Now as there fav. is due to songs like Sparks Fly and TSOU. If the album had Ours instead of one of those it would probably be many peoples favorites #noshadefanboy

I don't think people would change their minds toward the album as a whole just because of Ours. And Sparks Fly is one of the most admired from this era (with BTD, Enchanted, Haunted), from fans and non-fans.

TSOU, I think Taylor is so proud of this song.

I'm going to disagree on most admired. I've seen its been admired on ATRL but when you see many of the people they stan for I don't think its a good thing. For me personally the 1st time I heard it I wanted to go back to the store and return my cd but I told myself to wait to hear the next song and then I was hooked on the album but it really took me awhile to warm up to Sparks Fly. I like it but it certainly is toward the bottom for me as far as songs from SpeaK Now. I'd say any song that went #1 on country radio from someone as big a name as Taylor Swift and not go platinum that the general public wasn't really here for it.

Exactly ! the Country fanbase wasn't here for it at all . if it was released on Pop it would've been such a big hit because it IS a good song , but not good enough for Country music .

If Taylor didn't release Ours her career in Country would've been in a bigger risk by now .

And, Speak Now still remains better than Fearless and her debut. Better productions, better emotions on song, and better vocal delivery.

On my personal assessment, I was afraid of the change to Sparks Fly because the live performance **** so hard.

But when the album dropped, I was surprised and literally drop to this song. I still like the live version but Taylor and Nathan definitely delivered with Sparks Fly.

Well, we all have our own tastes, you like Breathe, while I don't get it, it felt short. Taylor + Colbie, should've been Bubbly + Fearless madness kind of song. Or Realize + Teardrops on my Guitar.

Definitely I've seen many of the people who hate her say that they may not like her but Ours is a great "country" song. So I think it definitely helped her career and I've heard it so much more than many of her past singles and my radio station isn't a big fan of Taylor so that says alot

Sparks Fly is one of the highlights of SN at least for me. Of course it's not on the same league as Last Kiss, Dear John, Mean and Long Live but it certainly is better than tracks like Better Than Revenge and TSOU. I guess it all depends on preferences. Because SN for me would not be the same without SF and the same is the case with some people I know. They love SF (and TSOU for that matter )
