At the same time, he should have known since he could live his life the FULLEST.
This reminds me of that korean group (from SM Entertainment) and their mom died but their management didn't tell them because they didn't want their performance to be effected.

I think his parents definitely did the right thing by not telling him, but if he had lived into his teen years I think they should've told him.
ugh there's such a big ethical issue here and idk how i feel about it. i understand the good intentions behind keeping it from him so he could go on living life like any other child would.. but c'mon, the kid deserved to know he was gonna die. his parents couldn't possibly have known how he'd react and quite often when kids find out this kind of information they actually do inspirational things with the time they have left; i've seen in the news about kids with terminal illness founding charities and fundraising for research into their illnesses. not necessarily saying this is what he'd have done cos obviously who knows how he'd have really taken the news
