honestly? i think he definitely has a better chance than most of his peers right now. like it or not he's already had a significant impact on the way radio (beyond urban) sounds. his albums thus far have been consistent big-sellers, his kanye-808s and heartbreak-inspired blend of rap and singing has encouraged a lot of his peers and rap newcomers to attempt the same (think about it lmao how many rappers nowadays try to sing their own hooks?), his emotional and vulnerable lyrics are totally unconventional when compared to the state of lyrical discourse in rap over the past like 10 years, and already other rappers are starting to adapt a similar style themselves
if he continues to develop his sound and continues to get hit singles and albums then yeh, he's in a good position. how many people who blew up that year are held alongside rap heavyweights like jay, wayne and kanye besides drake? very few, if none.
