Gaga's team wanted to replicate what they failed to do with Born This Way (Gaga got too excited and revealed a lot about the album months and months prior to its release) and that is to release a single and album quick and fast. I really doubt things have changed since her and her team have been working on the new album for almost a year now and it's only recently they've started to tease about it. It's got to be this year, no doubts about it. Unless it has been pulled back which would be ridiculous.
