To take pictures of other planets and other stars and stuff, they use the Hubble Telescope which has been operation since 1992, I believe.

Other than that, I think they use their best guess as to the position of the other galaxies and then just fill in the gaps 'cause, well, they kinda look the same.

Most likely. Hubble captured 10.000+ galaxies in one shot and that's just a fraction of the total amount.

I'm sure we're not the ONLY galaxy or planet with the conditions for life to exist.

I don't think we'll meet extraterrestrial life for a long time though.

That's cool, but there's always an arrow pointing to 'Earth' on photo's of our Galaxy, but how is that possible the photo is being taken from earth?

They've also sent out satellites before with the ability to photograph Earth.

There are more Earths in the Universe than we can even imagine.
