This completely confirmed that a generic producers like Dr. Luke/Max Martin and Kelly's vocals mixed together for a complete album would be even bigger than Breakaway. I already grew to like the song but I love it now. But I still refuse to support Katy Perry.
I think it sounds terrible. She kills the melody and displays really bad breath control. it's a ballad girl, you shouldn't sound out of breath!
What was the song leading up to the fan request? It could have been face paced. And usually, I don't like when Kelly changes away from the song too much but I felt that this was justified. The original melody was so basic and monotonous. She gave it some dimension.

and nah she does it all the time. She makes songs slower than they're supposed to be, sucking all the life out of them. not every song has to be bluesy and void of excitement. I hate it so damn much.
her covers are interpreted to suit Kelly's style, yes it may not have full band backing & she changes it up but it can be amazing when she gets it right (obviously, she has had some misses). Last tour the covers were put smack bang of an acoustic set so maybe that was a factor. But meh, its been great to have her sing a different song every night

But if we compared, it would have to be to a Katy live version. To my knowledge, Katy is off key in every performance she has done live. So, tbh, Kelly's live version destroys any of Katy's live versions, vocally.
