The VMA news wasn't really surprising to me though.. Idk why it was to anyone.

I wasn't surprised either. What I can't believe is people were actually surprised that the album's coming out on 2013.

Well, what people keep saying is that it was "delayed." Which is wrong. Lady Gaga just misspoke, yet again. (Although, Interscope Records disputes that they were delaying the Bratz Product altogether and that it wasn't a violation of the contract. All of this still has to go through legal proceedings.)

The legal filing states that the apparent 2013 delay was requested in April, this past spring, not recently. That culminated to the lawsuit filed this week.

Whatever the date is for the album, it was decided long ago. It wasn't some last minute date shift into the new year that sparked Bratz to file, which some fans are misreading as is.
