hmmm i always compare pop peers to pink cause she's way up there -- entertainment-wise AND artistically (unfortunately, she doesn't get the credit she deserves). people still have to catch on to what she does and the standards she sets IMO, that includes gaga. she's talented, especially when it comes to how to sell, she draws a lot of inspiration from other artists (from madonna and bowie to mylène farmer); but i would love to see more beyond just the entertainment and tributes. i think she's got it in her.
She is most definitely legitimately talented. Using the whole 'She's only hyped because of her outfits' line or because of her fans is beyond ignorant. That could apply to EVERY artist-but that doesn't really make it true. But let's face it, it's all very subjective and looking at the people who say she isn't, in particular but notr limited to, is proof of that.
Yes. She is talented, but severely overrated. She has a cute tone, but her vocal is too often too shaky when moving around the stage, often stiff and her improv is tired and stale.
I die when people try to drag other current popstars to make it seem like Gaga is the most talented musical genius eva. Like, girl stop.
I don't like the way the poll is worded... She's talented, but I do think if the mainstream music industry was made up of more talent than it is, it wouldn't be seen as such a big deal that she's talented, and she wouldn't be such a big deal.
She's talented, but not exceptional compared to a lot of artists who can't break through to the mainstream. She looks "in a league of her own" because none of her peers are on quite the same level as her. However, if her peers were different people, it wouldn't be quite the same...
I see her as a legit talent mostly because she can take her dance pop songs and breathe a different life into them on a piano. Still waiting on a full acoustics album.
A mixture of both, but she's definitely a legitimate talent. It's just that she's seen as extra-ordinarily talented because her peers, who lack in the talent department simply can't hold a candle to her.So yeah, part of it is cause of the lack of talent among popstars leading to low standards nowadays. If she came out at a time where most popstars possesed a respectable degree of talent, she would still be seen as talented, but maybe not among one of the most talented ones, like she's seen now.
She is talented, but I do think the two main talented females out right now (Gaga and Beyonce) would have had a much harder time competition-wise and less hype if they came out in the 80s or early 90s for example. I mean this was the time mega-superstars like Michael, Madonna, Janet, Prince, Bruce, Whitney, Mariah were ruling.
Who knows if either would have stood a chance back then?
They would have huge competition back then. Who are their competitors now? Nobody with real talent or stage presence really.
Beyonce can perform live better than most of those artists with dancing. Michael lip synced a lot as well.
Well the standards are low but even if they weren't she'd still be considered a great talent.
A great voice with good writing skills and she's a skilled pianist. Writes all her songs and makes all the melodies. Sings live while dancing. Not to mention she's extremely creative. She's just a phenomenon in my opinion. Her talents go beyond singing and dancing.
She's mediocre and uninteresting. She has no stage presences, her dancing isn't good, her singing is nothing special. She covers all that up with her outfits and what not.

So you think millions of people pay $100 to see her outfits?
