I don't know why using a smiley and whatnot is such a big deal. It's just a ****ing forum. Who gives two ***** if it's "pointless"? Isn't everything on here pointless at the end of the day? I dunno, I guess people just take it too seriously.

Besides, isn't the entire point of a smiley to convey how you're feeling without having to actually say anything? Stuff like. "I'm laughing " "I'm shocked " "Oh no " is ultimately more pointless than just using the smiley.
Instead of worrying about silly stuff like overuse of smileys, worry about getting rid of shady usernames, avatars and signatures. I think that's far more annoying than a few smileys.
I was actually given a WP for posting a "" at a post that was warned AFTER I had laughed at it. It was considered "pointless" (). There's a lot of pointless posts, as I'm sure we've all read, that are posted but they're not warned. Who's to stay what is and what isn't a pointless post? The mods needs to define what is a "Pointless Post" rather than arbitrarily issuing WP for pointless/smilie posts.
Smilie's can be annoying though. Like when someone says some weak ass shade and then you have to sit through pages of people quoting that with a " " smilie.
Usually I'm okay with it, but when I see the same post just using old shady posts, I start reporting. I think I only did it twice.
It pisses you off that much that you feel the need to report them? This is an internet forum about mostly pop music. The smiles are honestly the least irksome part of this forum. All you have to do is scroll past them or close the thread. I'd be more concerned with people spamming pages with flame smilies or just the words, "QUEEN", "HOT", and "FLAWLESS". They are just as, if not more, pointless.
