I have never ever got the impression that Madonna was her idol, or any sort of creative influence growing up. In Gaga's early days she constantly talked about people like Bowie, Springsteen, Mercury, etc., and never really talked about Madge unless brought up by interviewers. There is no evidence that she's a Madonna fan, aside from the epic fail of damage control after the release of BTW.
