You can try getting iTunes from http://www.apple.com. It should be able to detect the iPod. Just plug in the iPod after opening iTunes. If that does not work, you can try contacting Apple and asking for the CD that Kevin is talking about.
If you don't want to download i-tunes then you can download limewire if you don't already have it downloaded then you go to Windows Explorer and drag your music files to your i-pod file, I think.
I worked with a friend's brand new I pod* the other weekend and found that nothing really could happen until I downloaded+installed the Itunes program. It was the first time I've ever done anything with this kind of technology. I liked playing with it.
I'm thinking about getting one for myself, but I'm held back because of how fragile you have to be with these devices and the warentees that go with them. (I've heard a lot of horror stories) I need something that can survive a 4-6 feet drop onto a hard floor, which is why I like the cheap mp3 player I currently have.
*It was one of the smaller sized ones with the screen, and had around 1-2 GB of space.
