Why Didn't UK love Britney's Femme Fatale Era?
I mean FF album sale is at 100k only.
- HIAM didn't even make top5
- TTWE didn't even go top20
- IWG and Crimial didn't chart (Her first singles not to chart )
The question is that Is Britney totally over in the UK? or is it that she didn't promote? FF music is not that kind of music that UK loves?
Can we discuss?

I am not sure. I heard Hold It Against Me on Radio 1 so I am shocked that she did not do better.

It's because she didn't promote or even visit the UK for years and then when she finally did people couldn't be bothered to buy her stuff

UK has always been a weak market for Britney. Plus, Femme Fatale was an unpromoted worldwide flop, so... Her tour dates there struggled, too.

'Femme Fatale' went gold, while 'Hold It Against Me' and 'Till The World Ends' both went silver, which isn't bad considering she didn't promote. 'Circus' era did great in the UK because she performed at The X Factor.

I just hate it when Britney stans use lack of promo as an excuse. Like all the time.

An unpromoted album that still manages to become one of the bestselling albums of the year isn't a flop. It underperformed.

If it was not because of the lack of Promo, then what did you think why FF album didn't sell well?

The era started off well. Hold It Against Me was Scott Mills Record of the Week on Radio 1, and it got considerable airplay on Capital. It debuted at #6 which wasn't too bad for having literally no promotion. But still, not many people even knew about the album because there was actually nothing to promote it other than a TV advert which was really only on MTV and E4.
Most people in the UK don't even know about the Femme Fatale era. The tour did quite well in most cities in the UK. She sold out two nights in London and did a third at Wembley Arena but I don't think it sold out. The show I went to (Newcastle) sold out standing but the two big blocks of seats at the back of the arena were virtually empty.
The bottom line is, she did no promotion here. When she did eventually do a little bit of promotion (2 minute long scripted interviews on a few TV shows) it was far too late.

Weak singles that weren't album sellers. She's not the star that she is in the US, she needs to promote if she wants good numbers in the UK.

So he's right, UK has always been a weak market for Britney.

Compare these stats to her strongest markets' (like the US) and you'll see what I mean. And certifications in the UK are much easier to achieve than in the US. 4xPlatinum means 1.2M copies sold, which isn't THAT impressive ( Teenage Dream will soon top that there, in a much worse sales climate), considering the album was Diamond in the US.

+ She sold out 8 shows at the O2 Arena in 2009 and a show in Manchester. So that's like 150,000 tickets or something. (Didn't do the math, it's an estimation).

The era didn't start off well. They pushed the release of 'Hold It Against Me' from early March to mid-January and released album in late March. Everyone knows you release the lead single a week before the album in UK.

She's the 11th bestselling international act of all time in the UK.

'Teenage Dream' was promoted more than all of Britney's albums combined and it had eight singles. They're incomparable.
