My point is though, that people are going to take obscure quotes such as this and the "album of the decade" one seriously enough to use against her if things don't pan out the way she wants to.

I mean, I do too, but they need to keep in mind perception as well. Gaga is Interscope's gem... so of course they are going to talk highly of her in her absence. They might over do it sometimes, and most definitely during the BTW album.. but I think that was the point of that album. It was an over the top, message oriented album, geared mainly towards her fanbase (and a lot of gays). It didn't do her any favors with the general public, but that wasn't the goal.
