Born This Way may have underperformed in comparation to TF/TFM... but it was not a flop, I mean wasn't it like the second best selling album of the year..

Yes, yes it was.
Everyone's complaining because they hold Gaga to higher expectations than their own favorites. I mean, who else?

Gaga's in a unique situation, her album underperformed but still did well for todays climate, and given her radio support her sales are impressive. If Gaga wants any shot at regaining what radio, and digital power she did have then she will need to go back to more commercial music. She also needs to become a little more multi-format friendly with her music since crossover pop songs tend to do well on Radio.

Ch. Madonna recovered from Erotica, Britney recovered from Blackout, Rihanna recovered from Rated R, etc., etc. EVERYONE has flop singles. You're all acting as if the 5th single from her 3rd album flopping is some kind of be all and end all for her career. You know how many flops Rihanna has had? Even with them she manages to recover and push out massive hits. 1 flop single =/= loss of public interest in an artist.

Why do Monsters consistently have to use Rihanna as an example?
I think GaGa's lack of radio/digital power was due to simply, the wrong music at the wrong time. Her songs underperforming were because of the music, if she releases fun music again that people want to party to then i don't doubt she could reclaim her power/relevance.

Because she's a good example of having flops and then recovering from them. Stop trying to start something.

I think she will recover. BTW era was screwed when Judas was released on Easter Sunday, The Edge of Glory has an awful video, the Born This Way/Express Yourself comparisons, You and I as a single, and Marry the Night being the last single. Rihanna had a flop album with Rated R which has sold 1,017,000 copies as of Dec 2010, however turned it around by going back to the partying and ****ty Rihanna and smashed with Only Girl in the World, Whats My Name?, We Found Love and Were Have You Been. It just goes to show that every artist, Madonna, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus and Kelly Clarkson have all suffered from flop albums, but recover to make hits.

Because she's an example of an exemplary popstar who has consistently had a flop single in most of her album eras? That's not saying anything bad about Rihanna. Sometimes singles just don't work out.
And of course, it was the wrong music; that's all. No reason to get upset, bud.

no because people would buy her records because she was a fresh face and she would surprise people with her weird outfits and stuff but she's become too predictable and the WOW factor has worn off

Gaga can regain most of her radio and digital supremacy if she releases the right type of music. All Gaga has to do is tone down her heavy rock influence and focus on dance to succeed. She has all of the tools necessary to do so. If her lead single smashes and her image is more receptive by the general public, we will hear her on the radio again. She is already working on her image and has found success within the media, so I guess we shall wait on the music.

Right because 4 number 1 radio singles back to back is flopping. Girl she's one of the only few female artist to do it! Sit!

It really depends on her lead single. If her lead single underperforms, I might have to go with no honestly.
It's a shame. I maintain that had she released The Edge of Glory as the immediate follow up to Born This Way, the era would've gone much differently.

Gaga has already peaked, so she won't but it doesn't mean she can't come close.
