I think it depends on the music.

NO. If she releases singles that are actually good, and presents them to the public in such manner, she still probably won't live up the early part of her career.

She's so unpredictable in the aspect of what kind of music she puts out. We know what they'll probably be about, but the way it sounds, is a completely different matter.



There's always that tiny possibility that she will, and that possibility is slightly bigger than her contemporaries.

I honestly don't think so.

No. I think her lead single will do well because of hype and then the era will die down.

I just cannot comprehend how 2 flop singles from a third era (technically, kinda-sorta) has somehow magically ruined an entire career.

Have any of you guys seen some of the peaks of Rihanna's singles?

She's had a major flop in almost every album era she's ever had, but did you see people saying she could never recover from it?

When I think of Gaga's popularity loss, I try to compare her flop singles to Rihanna's. That girl KNOWS how to get over them. I don't know if Gaga has the capacity. If you know what I mean.

No, not as she used to

She said her album "lacks maturity". Gaga isn't oblivious to the BTW era. She knows that people aren't just going to play her music because of her name, she still has to provide us with songs that are more appealing to the GP. I think it can easily be done.

Sure she can. lol. If Gaga is anything, she is a smart business woman. With Born This Way, her passion ruled her reason and she got too caught up in the message she was trying to bring to the table that she fumbled.

I also want to make another statement concerning some other things. People might want to bring up the fact that even in the VIDEO section, Gaga has declined a ton. Well, to be frank, I'm speculating that has something to do with the fact that after Bad Romance (and a few others, roundabout timeframe though), Music videos became a major platform for singles again.

Well, if you add that to the fact that whether people want to accept it or not, Gaga has if ANYTHING sparked a higher interest in competition among pop divas (explains all of them doing the "crazy" outfit thing more often, especially in videos).

And because of that, there has become what you might call substitutes to Gaga. You now have Katy, Ke$ha, Rihanna, and others who are making the same kinds of videos that Gaga makes (except y'know highlighting to their strengths and not Gaga's).

Now here's where the decline that Gaga's experiencing is having, not only are the other pop girls making videos that can easily substitute for Gaga's entertaining videos, they are also releasing music that they'd rather HEAR because it's less dense and easier to relate to. Therefore, Gaga's experienced a fumble in popularity across the board.

That's not to say that it'll get any better or worse in the future, really. Granted she promotes the right IMAGE with the right SOUND, I am confident that she'll at the very least gain a good bit of the digital power, radio power, and overall popularity that everyone on here has been bitching about for the past year.

She may but she'd have to go back to the TF/TFM Gaga.

No she doesn't. You're just saying that because it worked at the time.

She needs to move forward to an image that the general public isn't used to with a sound that is either riding the current trends, or with a fresh song with insatiably catchy choruses and hooks with the production to match.

Depending on the type of music she makes, she still can go back to her peak, in my opinion.

Who knows?

Ch. Madonna recovered from Erotica, Britney recovered from Blackout, Rihanna recovered from Rated R, etc., etc. EVERYONE has flop singles. You're all acting as if the 5th single from her 3rd album flopping is some kind of be all and end all for her career. You know how many flops Rihanna has had? Even with them she manages to recover and push out massive hits. 1 flop single =/= loss of public interest in an artist.

Even though I think Born This Way is overall her best album, it's no secret she needs to get her act together and release the right kind of singles.

If she does I can see her next album selling as much as or a bit less than Born This Way (which is good considering the drop of interest in her music), but with more hit singles.
