So far in 2012, we've seen LMFAO, Rihanna, Adele, Kelly Clarkson, fun., Gotye, Nicki Minaj, Carly Rae Jepsen, Maroon 5 and Katy Perry all get bigger radio hits than she has ever been able to manage. There's really not enough room for her to get back into the radio. Especially once Kesha comes back into rotation.
Of course there is
Katy and Rihanna are her stiffest competition going into a new era.
That's why the polls asks WILL she, not CAN she. Technically, of course she can if she drops amazing music so hot that radio DJs have no choice but to play it and music buyers love. I'm asking if YOU think she WILL.
Will Gaga and Interscope finally become self-aware and fully utilize Gaga's potential? Haha. Nope. Not happening.
I agree with this. Gaga's next era will likely perform similar to the BTW era, almost regardless of the sound.
She will still be touring when the era starts, and she will add the first two singles to the set list. Her first single will be a smash. The second single will probably debut top 10, but it probably won't have good longevity. The promo singles will perform like BTWs did too.
The album will have a high debut but not as high as BTW regardless of the sound and even if it is released during black friday. After that she will be lucky to get a couple top 10 hits. They will probably need the music videos and major promo too. Regardless of the sound. The era will probably wrap up within a year. She go on a long and successful tour too, probably will out gross the BTW tour too.
I think eventually she will become a touring artist like Madonna, U2, and the other legends. She will just release an album for an excuse to tour.
Which is impressive, in and of itself. Considering Bad Romance was the only one out of those three to crossover to HAC.
Yep and those first half of radio peaks were quite impressive for their time too. Just compared to now a day's they seem a bit weak. It's just like sales from the past compared to now.
I can't believe that was her airplay during a 15m+ selling era and it's follow-up.
Lemme remind you that it was only a 5 million selling era in the U.S it sold 10m WW. And even then this is why we keep telling people that she has room to improve. But it seems like her hype has instead over shadowed her.
