Her heir? I like Demi a lot but that is a major insult to Kelly.

Except not really. Demi is an incredibly talented song writer and with a little more training and growth will become an incredible vocalist. She is the only rightful heir to the Queen and once she gains the respect of the general public musically (which she will after X-Factor) she will be unstoppable.

If anything, it's thanks to him that more country folk are embracing Kelly. They ****ing LOVE him.

Oh, I guess the year she was attached to Reba's hip has nothing to do with her being accepted by the country world.

I'm sorry, but no.

Did I ever say that? Sure that helped, but Aldean is a much bigger force in the country world then Reba currently is.
It's comparable to if Carrie Underwood did a pop song with Celine Dion, and then years later did a pop song with Katy Perry. It's obvious which song would be more beneficial for Carrie to cross over to the pop world.

Point taken. But to be honest, Kelly put him on the map outside of the country world. She made that song relevant to the pop world, hence why it's his only single to chart on Adult Pop and Adult Contemporary. It was also his first multi-platinum single.
Think about it. No one else could sing Kelly's part in that song and have the same success. Anyone could have sung Jason's part (Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney etc) and would have still be a huge cross-over hit.

Wait. I just saw this comment. Please see my comment about the cereal. Also, Edge of Glory is one of the worst music videos I've ever seen. Much worse than Dark Side. Born This Way was ridiculous.. didn't get the fuss over that. The only Gaga videos I'm here for is Poker Face and Bad Romance.

Definitely NOT here for a Kelly/Demi duet. Demi has such a manufactured Disney stigma, and is overlooked and disrespected by critics. I know that Kelly doesn't care about that but I think it would hurt her image. Critics would lose their respect for her imo.
I'm not trying to insult Demi, I bet she is a nice person and I know she has way more potential than being a Disney star, but right now, she still has to lose this teenie star image.

Lets not forget that Kelly had to get over the Idol stigma at one point in time too. People got over that and people will do the same with Demi in time. Talent speaks for itself and Demi is incredibly talented.

Agreed that Demi is incredibly talented. And that Kelly had to get over the Idol stigma. But it took her years, multiple smash singles and a 6x platinum album to begin to shatter that image. And she still hasn't lost it completely according to some. Demi has one solo Top 10 and flop albums. Granted, she's on a flop label, but that's not my problem. Kelly recorded her duet and went on tour with Reba after she was an established mega star.. so maybe in 5-10 years I'll accept a Demi duet. Just not right now.

Funny you guys mention Jason Aldean. He mentioned Kelly a few times in a recent interview.
blog post Q&A: Jason Aldean on Canadian country, Kelly Clarkson and the CCMA Awards
Q: You've been at the top of the charts in the U.S. for some time but this is the first album that's gone gold in Canada. Do you have any insights into why this one has clicked here?
A: Man, I have no idea! There were some songs on this record that had the crossover appeal. We had the duet with Kelly Clarkson; we kind of went outside the country music box a bit and made some people aware of us that weren't before. And "Dirt Road Anthem" was another crossover – those two songs were a big part of not only the success we had in the States, but also in Canada.
Q: Speaking of crossover, you've got a remix of your song "Dirt Road Anthem" that features rapper Ludacris. How did that come together?
A: I think certain songs lend themselves to different collaborations. When we recorded "Dirt Road Anthem," we didn't think, "This would be great to have a hip-hop artist come in and remix it." It was something were were going to do for the CMT Awards show just for fun and had no plans for releasing the song, and it went from there. I think some of the best collaborations are things that aren't created, but just kind of happen. Same for the Kelly song. It wasn't written as a duet – it was me riding around in my truck thinking it would be cool to have a female song on this. The voice I heard ... was a soulful voice. There's not a lot of females, especially in the country world, that have the kind of voice I heard. I threw Kelly's name out there and that's how it happened.

I think Demi is about to have her breakthrough very soon. Especially now that she has X-Factor behind her and now that radio finally seems to be accepting her. I think her next album will do really well for her and help her shake off alot of the Disney stigma.
I also think that a duet with Kelly would help with that. Especially if the song is really really good. I don't think it would seem like Kelly is lowering herself at all.

TEOG was a horrendous video but it was still more artistic than Dark Side could ever dream of being. Just with the difference in the outfits. Vintage Versace vs. K-Mart sales bin. And let's not pretend GaGa's average videography doesn't **** on Kelly's. Kelly's had a couple solid one but compared to GaGa's masterpieces? Ch...Kelly would only benefit from a GaGa collaboration.

Not the whole Demi debate again. Mzd won't be pleased. How many albums does Demi have to record under Hollywood? Isn't there a chance she'll come to RCA, especially working with Britney?

I'm pretty sure she has a 5 album deal since that's pretty much the standard over there. Her last album was her third so she has two more albums left with them. Or she could end up buying herself out of the contract like the Jonas Brothers did but I don't think HWR would let her go that easily, especially now that she's finally starting to gain traction.

Gaga's videos used to slay. Though, she's like Kelly. Her last good video was Bad Romance. Everything since.

I agree Kelly would only benefit from a GaGa collab. But I said nothing about artistry, lol. I don't care how artistic GaGa was or what designer she threw over her ass, it doesn't make up for the lack of plot or lack of really ANY substance to the video whatsoever. Dark Side remains the better video to me overall.. even if Kelly got her outfit out of a clearance bin. At least there's a plot and something for the viewer to follow, even if it's cheesy.

Joseph Kahn just wet his pants at you saying the videos from the Stronger era have had plots. And for GaGa, a simple video also made a very strong point cuz she usually makes such extravagant MVs. It was a shock to the GP when THEG video turned out to be so minimal. For someone who doesn't give two ***** about her videos, something so dull as the Dark Side video just adds to her collection of forgettable videos.

I'm failing to see the humor in this supposed funny shade. Her commercial for Google Chrome was a better direction than the actual video (The nails in that video was ), nevertheless, I think I'd say TEOG is still a better video than Dark Side.
