I also have this idea that New York City/Westchester/Long Island should be its own state because Upstate New York gives us such a bad reputation + they're political affiliations are on the other side of spectrum, it was a miracle gay marriage even passed here. And let's be real, New York City (and this has been proven) funds so much for upstate because of all the money it gets from tourism.

Can I say amen to this. I'm from NYC and go to college Upstate and its the worse. I wonder where that money goes sometimes. Sometimes I feel like I'm in the Deep South in some parts.
I hate the south too. I miss living back up North but I wouldn't resort to the over generalization of the whole South. And no Florida is not any better, especially with the way they have some sort of public crime trial and the outcome is ALWAYS sour.
