The song was too ahead of its time and still is. Britney's vocals was just infernal, infectious and out-of-this-world. The intro was too good and y'all know the song is going to be good the first time we heard it. The dark church oohs set the dark aura and atmosphere of the song,the beats were screaming hypnotic fire everywhere, Britney's bridge teasing and moans :sex:

It wasn't. It garnered Mixed reviews.

It's such an anthem. If you blast it really loud the song just absorbs you into it and doesn't let you go until the end. The ultimate club banger.

It's actually one of her mediocre songs. It's not her best at all. The chorus isn't catchy at all, the lyrics are super cliche, and the song is pretty much forgotten now-a-days. The production saves the song, but everything else is terribly generic.

What so amazing about Gimme More is the song is ahead of the time. Britney take electro pop to another next level and she's a trendsetter because of her, electro music become mainstream. The quote "It's Britney, Bitch" is the reason why this song is amazing.

It was very unique and something Britney's never done before. Just that dark, electro-pop feel to it makes it more amazing. I don't know how to explain it.

As you can see I'm not a "Gimme More" lover, but I'll defend its lyrical content..... The song appears to be a sex club song but it actually isn't a sex song at all, there's not even one bit of sex in the song..... the lyrics on the song are about Britney Spears life and the way everyone specially the media wanted more of her, and they were like saying "Gimme More, Gimme More, Gimme More". To be honest I find pretty cool and smart and unsual the lyrics.

The music video and the "Stripper theme" also refers to that concept, She is there dancing almost naked in the pole while everyone is around her just looking at her, and wanting more and more from her, its like a metaphor.

Gimme More has that extra terrestrial feel. Like E.T. It is pop perfection.
