Ummm the Microsoft Surface is 9.3 MM thick while the iPad is 9.4 I don't know how you can say it looks ugly when it just looks like an iPad, just bigger.

That sounds made up, every person I've known who has used Macs much prefer OSX. Ask anyone on Macrumors who used to use Windows.
They're both .37", and that's the RT version the version with the Intel processor is over half an inch think.
And how isn't this ugly?

I know, and Genius is really amazing. I think the music player is the biggest win for me.

DEAD. Of course they will they are on MacRumors for crying out loud. And no I didn't make that up. I am salivating at Macs' retina display tbh but I think Windows suits me well.
Well the RT version is the entry level and it is the one competing with the iPad.
Who would look at the backside of a tablet tho But no it's not ugly. The backflip can come in handy too.

I'm excited for the Surface with Windows RT. It looks like a very nice, solid product with great features. However, I'm skeptical on the apps front, as on a small selection of apps are designed with the Metro UI. I expect that to grow over time, but immediate app support is crucial, which is why RIM's BB10 software is practically DOA. I am least excited about the existence of the Desktop on Windows RT tablets, as the interface is cramped and not optimized for touch input at all. The terrible user experience with Desktop and the wonderful user experience with Metro are conflicting and do not represent a cohesive, unified product experience. It would be a much better tablet if Desktoo was removed completely from RT.
The Surface Pro is a joke. You pay $800+ for an intel core i5. .5"+ thick laptop, and heavy chassis without a real keyboard. You could purchase a high quality PC ultrabook or a MacBook Air for an equivalent if not similar price with better specs and a more work-centric experience. Tablets are media consumption devices. You cannot use a 10.6" screen with AutoCAD, Revit, Maya, Final Cut, Avid, SketchUp, Rhino, etc. These professional applications are optimized to run on 15"+ size screen, considering 13" screens barely display any information. What are you going to do with a professionally branded 10.6" tablet? Photoshop may work out well considering the screen has a built in-digitizer, that's it.

It's not a joke because the surface pro is aimed at business users, so they can do things more robustly like a full web browser and a full suite of office software. It's not designed really for creative media.
Plus the surface has a full hd screen so at native resolution you should be able to see everything, though I think windows will do something similar to what apple did with the retina display because then everything would be tiny.

For the love of god just stop . Your level of ignorance is unbearable .
First of all , the official prices have not been released .
Second of all , the Surface is meant to be the landmark design for windows 8 tablets , so you can be sure others such as HP , etc. will make models that have a more attractive price point / bang for the buck .
And finally , this is a first gen device ! , just like the first gen iPad was a blown up crap iPhone . By the second or third gen Surface will snatch wigs like a hurricane . If you can't see that Surface is the future of mobile computing you are seriously delusional ...

Business users? What would a business user need that isn't available on the Surface RT? Any spreadsheet or heavy Office users are going to want a laptop with a full keyboard. Office is available on RT and Windows Phone. Also, Microsoft scales the resolution of the screen so everything is readable and large in Desktop mode, which isn't optimal if you need to do actual work. You can scale it to native resolution, but then you can't read anything on the small screen.
