Spinoff: What makes Britney so great?!?!
This is not bait but what makes Brotney so great in the eyes of ATRL???
Im not talking about present day Britney but Britney in her Prime. What is so great about her music, videos, singing, dancing and performances??
Honestly I dont care much for Britney but Britney in her prime was a fairly decent performer/dancer. Nothing more, nothing less. I think overall she just has that quality that would make someone a big star.

Well, In the Zone and Blackout are forward thinking, well written and overall good Pop albums and then she just has fancy videos and then good singles in other eras.

Being honest, she's not very talented and has never been very attractive to me either. She was a really good dancer, but nowhere near as GREAT as some ppl make her out to be.
But somehow, she has managed to be one of the most significant popstars success and impact-wise and that can't be denied. The key to her initial success was her innocent virginal school girl with an ultra short skirt image and her bubblegum pop sound which was distinct for that time. She worked with the right ppl,she was marketed very well and ofcourse, she was an intersting performer and had charisma and what you might call XFactor. She has put out great pop albums, videos and singles consistently and managed to keep ppl interested, the degree of her input in them was however usually not really high. She has had several iconic moments and has a lot of timeless pop classics. She has also inspired several modern popstars to be stars/performers.All of that together makes her special.

She was a great performer primarily thanks to her energetic and intricate dancing moves, and she had massive sex appeal.
Her music in her prime, bar In the Zone, was nothing to write home about, though. Her post-breakdown albums are generally better.

This thread is going to get 10+ pages, warning points and insults will fly, it should be a great read.
What makes Britney so great is her music videos, dance moves, sex appeal, and her ability to not go with what's trendy at the moment, she always does something different with her music.

She's attractive and, especially in her prime, was an excellent dancer. Even though she lip synced (which virtually all of the great pop stars have done at some point), she could really put on a show with her dancing (and gyrating ). She has a natural charisma that not many other popstars have and for the most part she's very humble, honest, and even gentle, which makes her incredibly likable. She's not very musically talented but she's had her management is very good and she always has the best producers helping her churn out hits. So while I don't think Britney is necessarily "great" as the question implicitly states, she has played to her strengths and put out solid records overall and, of course, owns some of the biggest pop culture moments in the last decade.

I believe some Britney stans have the true receipts on "Everytime."
Regardless, it doesn't matter with the credits. Good music is good music.

1 song out of how many titles????????? Especially when Bey is constantly dragged about her "writing" receipts. N I agree good music is good music but its not apart of her greatness when she didnt create it.

I remember when I younger BHOMT really captivated me and then seeing all those live performances she was AMAZING and i thought she was amazing livee (i dint know bout lipsyncing) and then I saw her live and I felled even more in love with her!She had so much energy and she interacted with her fans and she seemed to have a blast on stage and just made you wanna get up and dance. Then seeing interview she was nice, funny, humble and she had LOTS of personality. She continues to captivate people attention even 14years later. Her music is often very forward, even if she doesn't write and produce everything but she has alot of creative input on her album and decides how she works with and what goes on the album and what doesn't.
She managed to captivate people when she was 16 and she still does there just something about her that make her stand out.
She will always be a Legend, whether you like or not

Also many fail to see that before when she was more immersed in her music, she had a great sense of intuition when her songs/videos/performances were executed.

In the Zone is basically all Britney, she was very hands on for that album.
Everytime was completely written and COMPOSED by Britney but some people did go in and tweak a little.
Also for those who say she dont have talent:

She's beautiful, kind, has catchy fun dance-pop songs and alot of charisma in a ditsy way. In her prime, she had the best body and also could read a bitch on stage. Hopefully, one day she can get her groove back.
If not, than oh well. Her fans will continue to be here for her mainly because of nostalgia. Personally, I think she wants out of the entertainment business. I think its pretty obvious her handlers are pushing her to make music and perform.
The girl is overworked. She's been the breadwinner since a child. It cant be healthy performing your entire life ever since age 9. Its so sad. Britney now is a shell of her former self.
I also think Britney is more musically inclined than people think. She had a nice Broadway voice when she was a kid, in fact I think if she went Broadway it probably would have been a better venture than Hollywood for Britney.
