Worst case scenario is that your roommate is NOT cool with your situation, and then you can tell the housing department that you need to be placed in a different dorm. They won't force you to stay with someone who makes you feel uncomfortable.

There was a questionnaire, but at the bottom they said "We make all decisions regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, national identify, etc
and we reject all requests to change because of those reasons
Though they probably would have an exception.
