Idk. I love Nicki's versatility, and I would never want her to pick a side but I feel like the GP wants her to. To be quite ****ing honest, and I'm not saying this to be shady, but I can see why some people call her a sellout (even though I don't agree). Like physchodj said a couple of weeks ago, she brands herself as a rapper but is known for her pop smashes. Like it just doesn't add up. Again, I don't think Nicki is a sellout but from the GP/or someone who doesn't really know her, I can see why they form that assumption about her.
I just wish she'd put in the same effort of promoting her pop smashes into her potential urban smashes. If she promotes her urban singles enough, they could be big. I mean DIOE went Gold and probably could've gone Platinum had she promote it more. It angers me that at shows (i.e. the NBA All Star show she did this year) she performs one semi-urban single (M4L) and the rest are pop.
And it saddens me to say this but besides DIOE and BITP, she doesn't really have a solid urban single where she's just spitting bars (she relies on her features for that). Idk. Idc if she makes more pop stuff next era but I'm going to need her to put more effort into promoting them urban singles next era. The **** is with Starships selling 4.2+ million copies worldwide but BITP struggling to sell 200k.

I'm going to need you to stop spilling that tea.
I used to bop to everything minus Sex, Beautiful Sinner, Automatic, Whip It. Now I just bop to HOV Lane/IAYL and occasionally YF and BITP.
I think this album overall is one of her more forgettable pieces of work. PF remains as her top memorable album IMO.

I bop to "PF:RR" everyday, I don't know what y'all talking about. I still don't use "Sex In The Lounge" though.

I applaud nicki for doing different genres and doing some dance/pop songs, but in a way i feel like thats just not her. And i also feel that female rappers need to be able to crossover to pop to stay relevant, but songs like starships just are no the way to do it. Dont get me wrong i love those songs, but they dont feel like a nicki song to me. Nicki has a great opporunity, and potential to become one of the most influential rappers EVER and retire at that mogul level like Jay or Wayne would, but dance tracks like starships are NOT going to get her there.

Thank you. I just wish Nicki would stop being so stubborn and listen to some of it! Criticism can be a good thing. I think somebody like Jay, Kanye, or Wayne needs to sit her down and talk to her.

It definitely does not feel like it's already been 4 months!
Either way, PF: RR did get old, although I still go back to it sometimes. I think some of it has to do with the fact that I've been listening to other artists (Adam Lambert, Usher, Maroon 5) and the fact that some of the songs, (especially the pop ones), are extremely forgettable. There's virtually no substance in them, and once you've played them a few hundred times, they just get stale.

She definitely sees it... she knows what people are saying about her... She needs to just to separate the constructive criticism and the unnecessary criticism and not take it personal but to use it to see what she needs to do in order to have a successful 3rd album/career.

And i want that masterpiece, critically acclaimed album of the year album with no dance tracks and a very few popish superbass/save me/ fly tracks. I really dont want her team to release to many singles from PF:RR more than 10 singles off an album is kind of messy.

My money is on a new album by November 2013. She will release 8-10 singles in total with summer, fall, winter and possibly spring releases. I think she will alays have her.pop smashes but I think it will be more.hip hop from.here on. She's realizing ppl are here for the did it on ems and moment for lifes.

From the Press Conference
Quote:
STATUS: In your mixtape, you referred to yourself as Nicki Lewenski and now, you call yourself the “female Weezy.” How has your relationship with Lil Wayne changed, and do you feel like he’s more of a competition than a boss now?
Nicki Minaj: What a great question! The Nicki Lewenski was really me being young and wanting a catchphrase that was over the top. I regret saying that now because eww! [laughs] But you know, that’s true. My relationship with Wayne has changed so much. But I guess, [he is] never a competition because I feel like he is the best rapper. Ever. Period. But we have more of a peer relationship. We have a good thing. I really love him.
