Not even close. Two singles are released before albums all the time. They just need to capitalize on The X Factor and Holiday sales by having her release a single in the middle or end of December.
It's not like GYHAB is going to solidify radio airplay for her all of a sudden. The December single would take time to climb on radio & probably wouldn't peak until mid-March or so. If they capitalized on that by sending a second single to radio in early-mid April, a mid-late May album release is perfectly acceptable.
The fact of the matter is popstars should not release albums early in the year because by the time the holidays come, their albums suffer from less sales or the era is over all together.
