True, but there are some technically great singers who never had formal training that can outsing even those who do have training. That doesn't necessarily mean Florence has the same capability, but if she really disciplined herself, I think her technique would vastly improve. The most famous acts weren't technically perfect - the truth is most people can't even hear the difference the technicians on the thread find so important. If 99.9% of music listener don't care, it means nothing for commercial success. The vast majority of musicians don't go to music oriented schools from the beginning of their education.
The issue is Florence not hurting her voice, and keeping it top notch. Cutting back on her drinking (and I have never seen pics of her smoking) will help, but getting some training will extend her peak singing time.
