Ke$ha. Just because a lot of her music isn't incredibly serious doesn't mean her talent shouldn't be taken seriously -- it's ****ing hard to write infectious lyrics that get stuck in people's heads and that make us want to come together and dance. Simplistic, "no-brainer" pop music is actually some of the hardest stuff to come up with.
Her lyrics always generate loads of discussion and are often
very memorable; she's really unleashed some of the best one-liners in the entire history of pop. You know what I'm talking about -- the bottle of Jack doubling as toothpaste, the slumber party in her basement, Jesus on her necklace, coming... over to your place, etc etc. She seems to come up with new pop culture catchphrases with each new track. Her writing is quirky, succinct, interesting, and uniquely her own.
She also does heartfelt ballads and other tracks of that nature exceptionally well...
But I totally give the other two ladies snaps as well.
