Uh duh, it's supposed to be hated by adults with a certain area of "maturity." Some of these same adults have a hatred for Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous, because of the lyrics. (Which in some degrees are no better than London Bridge.)
This song was intended to be purely commercial, to make Fergie Ferg some $$$,$$$.
As for myself, London Bridge has had me by the head since last summer.
