Better Than Revenge is the ****. It's basically Taylor Swift being a bitch like no other and it's refreshing to hear. But the title track Speak Now is very well-written and brilliant, comparable or maybe even better than her songs with a love story in it ( You belong with me and Love Story). I loved Dear John too.
Now that I think of it, I believe Tay Swift is at her most effective when she writes and sings about songs that have a love story in it. I hope she would never completely depart from that formula.
Enchanted is the new gold standard in terms of Taylor's music. It will be hard to top that son but i'm sure she can do it.
Overall, Speak Now was a masterpiece not given a full treatment. Lack of promo and poor single choices killed it. Should've sent Better Than Revenge (with Radio Lyrics Edit) as summer single instead of TSOU. And had Enchated as a holiday single. It could've saved the underperformance of the record. It could've easily outperformed Fearless's sales given how much potential it had. It was handled miserably by her label.
