Only 1 album has sold over 1 million in 2012 so far and it's 21.
Nice digital single sales.

Adele and One Direction also had the best-selling music videos of the first half of the year. Adele's Live At The Royal Albert Hall sold 464K in the first half, more than any video has sold in the first half since Collision Park by Jay/Z Linkin Park sold 493K in the first half of 2005. One Direction's Up All Night: The Live Tour sold 178K. This marks the first time that two music videos have topped 100K in the first half since 2008.
Here are the rest of the top five music videos of the first half of the year. Phantom Of The Opera At The Royal Albert Hall sold 84K. Whitney Houston's Greatest Hits sold 74K. Martin Scorsese's documentary George Harrison: Living In The Material World sold 64K.

Through the sales week that ended on July 1, the half-way point of SoundScan's tracking year, "21" is the only album that has sold more that 1 million copies this year. The next biggest selling album is Lionel Richie's "Tuskegee," which has moved 912,000.
This is the first time the industry has only seen one album sell a million mid-way through the year in the 21 years SoundScan has been tracking sales data.

Such a shame. Every year, it's less and less.

Last year I think it was only two though..
Adele and Gaga, and if Gaga didn't have the Amazon discount there'd only be one, one million selling album again.
It's not like total overall album sales are terrible so far this year, there holding up pretty nicely to last year considering the low amount of HUGE acts that have released this year.

That is false. Gaga was over 1mil in the US at the end of last year without the 400k from amazon.
