'Animal' sold well based on Word-of-mouth, basically. After the success of TT, RCA basically left her out to dry. Though they were successful, none of her following singles were promoted nearly as successfully as TT.

Katy on the other hand sold 1.5 while having all of the Capitol's promotion. Not only were IKAG and H&C both massive hits, Katy also had the luxury of performing them on almost every outlet known to man.
