ATRL is being especially brutal towards Dark Side because someone HAD to make a thread after the BMA's asking whether people thought Wide Awake or Dark Side would be more successful. It was sort of an even vote on the poll and then the Katy stans were attacking saying it would flop while of course the Kelly fans were defensive. Then Wide Awake shot right up to the top 10 of iTunes and Kelly fell back down into the 400s. So it's like the two songs are being compared for that reason.. ugh.

Oh I am too! I honestly thought the songs would perform similarly. I'm happy for Katy, and I love the song, but I just wish they hadn't been released at the same time!

I honestly don't know why Wide Awake is doing so much better. It's a good song and I've grown to really like it but I don't think it's anywhere near as good as Dark Side overall and that's not my bias speaking. It might be a little more catchy than DS but quality wise it's not even close.
