I mean, it really depends on what you're using it for. If you're purchasing it to help out the site and keep it running, then yeah, it's definitely worth it. If you're purchasing it for the name change, then it depends on how much you hate your current name. Other than that, it's probably not worth it. You do get a larger inbox and a shiny plus symbol, though.

Not really. The ability to change ones username loses its novelty after a while, because it's just a name change after all. And I agree with Mandown, if you're planning on donating to the site and its on-going maintenance then why not, go for it.
