Hi everyone! I was just wondering yesterday if anyone on ATRL actually wrote songs? If you do then who inspires you? What kind of songs do you write and feel free to share some lyrics with us! also Who is the dream artist you would write for?

I'm a writer! I am definitely inspired by Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey when I write in general....but I could write a song for anyone. but of course, I wish to write for Mariah and Beyoncé one day......that day may be coming soon as a matter of fact.

I do, I haven't written in a while but mostly I'm inspired by love or the things I'm going thru, I imagined once that I wrote a song for Eminem that we sang it together

It's actually funny and good because it helps to let go some things that maybe you're afraid to express saying them verbally so you can express them in songs.

I write A LOT OF songs , i'm mostly dance, pop and R&B but im trying to also do rock and hip-hop and soul...

It's feels like therapy for me, writing my experiences or even other people's experiences helps me understand the situation better, and really empowers me

I'm inspired by a lot of artists lately Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey and Adele have been inspiring my lyrics but anyone and anything can really inspire me. I've been told that i'm a good songwriter because i'm honest in my lyrica

I wrote my first song yesteray, well half of it at least. I got inspired after I heard gagas princess die song

I write songs but I haven't in a while. I get my inspiration from Gaga

I do. I was on a damn writing spree this weekend. I swear i've been going thru so much lately i feel like im writing my 21.

I've been writing since 2004. I write a lot. I'm in the middle of writing a couple songs now.

I use lots of different structures. I guess my sound is more folk and kind of dream pop. Some of it's dark and most of the time really imaginative unless I want to be blunt. There's lots of fantasy elments in my writing as well. I find inspiration in everything, tho.

I'm currently writing an album inspired by cinematic villains. It's not strictly about the villains because some songs are about my experiences with some villains added in. I really hope to get this off of paper.

I also love writing answers to songs by other artists. That's actually how I got into writing songs.

Artists I'd love to work with are Bey, Bat For Lashes, Kate Bush, Santigold, Miami Nights 1984, Editors, Solange, Massive Attack, Jamie XX, Rihanna, Afrojack, Dave Aude, Alan Howarth, John Carpenter, 311, No Doubt, Pasheone, Purity Ring, Drake, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Tina Turner.... LordT, there's so many.

I did share a song once before... I'm kind of nervous again, lol.

I write my own songs... things that inspire me are usually whatever is happening in my life at the time, sometimes an idea will just pop into my head... sometimes when I'm listening to another song that will inspire a song of my own. I'm not sharing any of my lyrics but I'd love to write for Rihanna, JoJo, Kelly Clarkson, Ke$ha, Selena Gomez... more or less my faves... But I'd also love to write with them as well.

The music comes into my head and I write the lyrics. I actually spend most of my time writing lyrics and developing concept-album ideas.

I'd say 90% of the songs I write are for CA's and the other 10% are standalone songs, I'd like to shop around to artists who I'd think suit the song.

This song (above) I wrote it with Pink, Kelly Clarkson or Adam Lambert in mind. But probably not Kelly because she sings songs all about the same thing and I'd want her to do something that would be a surprise and unexpected and a change for her.
