Due to our discussion, the rules for posting new threads in Main Music Forum have changed! We have realized that the "official" threads for artists were not a good idea. This is what we have agreed on.
1a. There will be no official threads for any artist.
NO - The official Christina Aguilera thread
1b. Post one new thread for each important news story.
YES - Christina Aguilera announces new tour dates YES - Christina Aguilera announces follow-up to Back To Basics
2a. Do not clutter the forum with threads containing random non-news about your favorite artist. They will be deleted!
NO - Christina Aguilera is awesome NO - Christina Aguilera current era thread NO - Has anyone listened to Stripped lately? NO - According to me, Christina is the most beautiful woman NO - omg "Hurt" is such a great song
2b. Post random thoughts about your favorite artist's album/era in Album Releases, inside the thread for that album.

I like it, but you mixed some non-Britney stuff in the Britney photo thread . I saw some Christina Aguilera, Paris and some other stuff. Look at the last page of that. I don't know if you did that on purpose unless someone posted that stuff within another Britney thread but yeah I love that idea. Great job TC. It's so good. I get sick of all those Britney threads Literally like 10 a day.

I just merged any thread with "Britney" in the title from page 1 or 2 of the forum... so people must've posted Paris, etc in those threads. That would explain the pictures of other people in the Britney photos thread.
Lol have you tried PMing them? They probably don't understand english that well and dont understand this whole thing that is going on. I understand it of course. But closing threads probably will make them even more madder?
If this can be consistantly enforced by all the mods/adms, I say go for it. I really like it, especially with all the Britney, Beyonce, and Xtina threads.
But I think no to the "sticky" idea. That might get carried away and suddenly we're faced with looking at the first 2-3 pages of threads in the MMF designated to certain artists.
Great. I hope people don't start creating 22461760 threads about 4845310 artists. These 6 artists are enough so far. By the way I agree with luisedo. The Celebrity Photos forum is better now!
TC, I thought (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and I was a global mod) we (as a whole) were discussing allowing subforums for all the hijinks and news over major stars (which would be 2 subs - 1 for Cheeto C-Section and 1 for Bleached Tang). Is there any possibility for something like that to happen...even while i try to understand how Hilary Duff has done anything relevant recently (besides a breakup) to necesitate her very own news thread?
I think subforums were a valid idea, but an official thread for an artist discourages useless threads, while a subforum would sort of encourage them.
As for Duff, somebody already made the thread... I'm considering deleting the Duff and Rihanna threads though, because I don't think they're necessarily big enough to warrant an official thread.
Actually, having a Duff thread (or Rihanna or any other crappy teen pop girl "singer") isn't too horrible. I'd say maybe there should be more official threads for popular ATRL artists (like Nelly F or JT) as well as the usual suspects. As for the frivilous threads, provided everyone played nice it might be tolerable in subforums to do so - something else to do when waiting on Britney to forget her panties again, I suppose.
And I'd say sticky major artist news threads and make it clear that ALL discussion on a paticular artist (major one, anyways) happens there. Unless its about chart position, where there's already threads for it if the subforums would be too...um...much.
The only thing I don't like about this is that I don't really care about people's random comments, and it will seem as though threads are updated when people are simply commenting on the news, and so I am probably just not going to check the official threads, considering that I don't at all right now.
