I wasn't much of a Britney fan, didn't really follow her career or pop music in general but I remember being absolutely disgusted at how the media made a spectacle of her life! At one point I remember yelling at. the TV 'DAMN LEAVE THE ****IN GIRL ALONE!' It was like no one stopped to realize that she was a real person in desperate need of help, instead they made a mockery of her life. In any case, I'm glad she's better now and I completely understand why she's emotionally detached from the industry as a whole in her current state.
Tbh...when I found out she was divorced I was one of the fools that believed 2003 Britney would return...she was ice skating with Larry rudolph sporting a sophisticated look...then
Huge EFFING sigh...I saw her out with Paris Hilton...I knew it was a bad sign. Then I saw her out with Paris and lindsay...I almost turned in my stan card.
Then her or team put out this bs statement on her website about taking her newfound freedom too far...and then she returned back to her antics. When that Isaac guy ashes was dating sold her out to a magazine I threw my hands up and said...f u Britney you can't keep doing this to yourself. The last picture I saw was her ruggedly swinging on a swift like a lost kid and idgaf...
Then she shaved her head a week later and I embraced her again and stop being so heartless.
Bit she put me through too much in 2007 when she started rebelling and self destructing again...STANS are built strong to last long...especially as a Britney stan.
I wasn't such a big fan of Britney back then, but I was really surprised. I really felt bad for her, while my whole family and friends were laughing at her and mocking her. And when she hit that car with the umbrella, I was scared for her life.
Because of her breakdown, I realized how strong Britney is, it rare that anyone who had that much problems can survive and rise up again. I love Britney.
I remember sitting watching the news and it came on the screen and I said "Omg she didn't!". I was very shocked. The fact that Britney Spears cut off her hair and it ended up on international news programmes just shows the extent of her stardom. It's also strange how the fact that a woman shaves her head, and people automatically fear for her life and think she is mentally ill. I did too! I remember being so worried about her, and then seeing the photos of her smashing up the car with an umbrella and being so sad. Britney has said now though that she knew what she was doing and she did it to rebel against her family/managers and to feel some form of freedom in her life.
It happened in 2007 right? Yes. I remember it being in the media. It was a big thing. I don't know what I thought though. I guess I kind of found it a bit funny to be honest.
Ya'll were overreacting. pft.
I didn't get what the big deal was about tbh. I was more shocked at the umbrella incident than this.
I don't understand how a female celebrity shaving their head is not a big deal...whether it is for a movie role...demi or desperate cry for attention...Britney.
It's not a conventional move by any means.
That didn't scare me as much though as that video of her with the umbrella smashing the car. That's when I REALLY got scared for her life. It was just so shocking even though everyone knew she was spiraling downwards. I know it's invasive, but I'd really be interested in the events that occurred leading up to that. Like what drugs she was given (forcefully or otherwise) and the scenarios that made her freak. I remember so many people were making fun of her and I was just thinking how awful it was and NOT something anyone should make fun of or even pass judgment on. She was so clearly in need of help and not in a good place emotionally and for people to try to capitalize on that is wrong. I swear she has never fully recovered. The sparkle in her eyes has been gone for years this makes me so sad.
THIS, I completely agree. (all of it but especially the bolded part)
