If Ocarina of Time isn't at least Top 3

I need help identifying a video game people, I thought I'd like dreamed it up or something, but then one of my friends described the game to me so I know it's real! But nether of us know what it was called!

I think it was for PlayStation 2, and you basically play as a guy character, and fight/kill shadows or something along those lines. I can just remember that the graphics were really good (for the time anyway). It must be well over 6-7 years old now.

Mirror's edge was the only innovative game for the last 10 years, different from the others EA games. Sadly, the sales were poor.

Another innovative game that didn't get a sequel because of poor sales. Music & Gaming industries are pretty similar nowadays, originality doesn't really work well.
