The Dark Knight has to be, hands down, the most overrated movie of the 21st Century. Not that I found it poorly written, I just don't find TDK superior enough to stand as tall as it currently does. I strongly believe the death of Heath Ledger was all the hype the film needed to give it the added boost. Without that unfortunate death, TDK would have been just another movie. While 'The Dark Knight Rises' looks promising, the hype is still coming off from the first film - which stems from the death of Ledger. This external factor didn't make the movie more appealing to me.

I found The Avengers to be overrated as well. People were telling me this would be the best movie I will have ever seen. I was entertained, and I support Joss Whedon (Buffy) as a writer, but I didn't how it stood out from any other major comic film. Iron Man has become the new Wolverine...Overused and over annoying. I could have done without.

What are movies do you find overrated?
