Who knows? She could surpass Mariah's number 1's as it's very easy nowadays to hit number 1 in Billboard BUT she could never surpass Mariah's cumulative weeks at number 1 which is the much more difficult one to achieve.

Yeah. I think Rihanna has had 1 #1 hit this era. I'm thinking she will achieve 1 for the next few eras. I think she is starting to become overexposed to the point where those #1s are not going to come as easy.

As much as Katy claims that she knows she will never have an era like Teenage dream...I honestly think she is going to make her next era bigger because it's do or die.

That said,
I can see both Katy and Rihanna getting close to 18 #1 hits; however, I honestly think Mariah has another 1 or 2 #1 hits left in her. And they have to come with her next two albums...after that it's a wrap.

She's not selling as well as her previous efforts despite having a massive hit.

I love Rihanna but it is apparent that her US/WW sales are leveling off like any pop star.

I think her best chances are her 1st and 2nd singles for each era. I don't think she can pull a 3/4 #1 hit with or without features now that she is becoming more and more overexposed.

I pray she takes a break after her 7th album era. Rita Ora is no competition...she can take a break in a year or two and still be good.

No-one can keep churning out #1 hits indefinitely, year after year. Rihanna has taken barely a break for what, 7 years now? She will obviously slow down at some point - in my opinion, in the not too distant future.

I admire your confidence thinking it will be straightforward for her to get 8 more #1's to pass Mariah. But that is a hell of a lot. I don't think she's going to do it.
