If you're talking about the drink then I say soda. I never refer to it as pop. You also left out cola

No, because cola is a specific drink, while pop/soda refers to a whole group of carbonated soft drinks including sprite, orange SODA (never heard of orange POP), etc.

When i want Pepsi ,i say "pepsi"
When i want Dew ,i say "dew"

I say Soda. However, I'm definately from Panama City Beach, Florida/Atlanta, Georgia, and either way, it's the south. Down here, we say "soda." I noticed all my friends from the north (Michigan, Iowa...etc.) say "pop." Even if I was given a choice, I'd still stick with soda. It has more of a distinct meaning. "Pop" has mulitiple meanings.

I'm from the north and we don't say pop here, haha. Neither does NYC where I go to school.

lol, Nick, school might be a different situation. Perhaps there are students from the south there? I uno. It was just a theory is all.

noo I mean like New York City PEOPLE not the people I go to school with. Plus I live in upstate NY. Just not the western part where pop is the thing haha
