Danity Kane. Ride 4 You = Flop
Yup, the supposed "best song" on the album has flopped. And I remember how everyone wanted it a single!
Honestly, theres nothing on the album that could be a hit, they just got lucky with "Showstoppers" being a debut. I suppose they could release "Sleep On It" or maybe a very hot remix of "Touching My Body".
And no Arith, I don't think "Right Now" will do anything on the charts. Urban isn't picking up on them, maybe they should stick with pop.

Want It or Hold Me Down would do good. R4U died away before it was born.

Well, I never thought that "Ride For You" was the best song on the CD, "Right Now" actually is
But anyways, I'm not really suprised. Diddy pretty much marketed a pop group with a very R&B album. The group has pretty much survived on the Pop charts, Airplay, and Downloads. I posted two months ago that "Ride For You" should have been releaed, but everyone responded with "OMG no because "Showstopper" is still doing good on radio"!
Well, Check how "Ride For You" is doing on radio. Not exactly amazing, sadly:
Pop
73 72 DANITY KANE Ride For You 211 201 10 0.514
Rhytmic
40 40 DANITY KANE Ride For You 625 652 -27 4.488
Urban
228 343 DANITY KANE Ride For You 11 19 -8 0.765
I saw this coming, so I'm not suprised. If anything "RideFor You" should have been sent to "Urban" & "Rhythmic" early, and "Pop" a LOT earlier than it was. in fact, "Ride For You" isn't doing hit on Airplay or the Hot 100.
Well, right now, I'm thinking that they might as well release something that will be a guaranteed hit on Pop because that's all than can save their album. I think that they should try to push for "Want It" or "Hold Me Down". Like pyroforce said, they don't have many hits on the album("One Shot" could have been a hit, but people are sick of it), so they need to have a upbeat third single, and seriously release "Right Now" and "Back Up" (wack, but could be a hit on Pop?)

I wouldnt really consider it a flop. I mean dont you think you should give them a little bit more time before you come out and say that the song is gonna have no success? It possibly could in the future... hopefully.

Why did it have to be this song?

I think there's something about Diddy's signed artists and second singles flopping... First Cassie, with LW2G, now Danity Kane.

Diddy just wants to feel like he's needed or wanted around and no one really gives a **** if he died 2morrow. So he tries to make the hottest artists/bands and get at least a hit single so he can say one day "oh i made that song" and then forget about them ater that. Sad stuff, happens with ALL of his artists. (Dream, O*Town, Da Band[although they just eww], now DK will feel the wrath)

Basically.
DK was marketed completely wrong. Where was the media blitz of performances and high profile tv shows? I remember a couple of performances and an AOL session, but it was over the span of how many months? Diddy trashed this group. They were the epitome of mediocrity, but a lot of people like them because of the show, and the cd was ok. How could Diddy mess this up? Oh yeah, he wanted to go gold.

I'm not sure. I mean look at Show Stopper and how it came out and didn't pick up steam for a few months, but it's a big hit now.

"Sleep On It". it the only song, it's hot & it's pop. a remix with a hot rapper and you got it. or maybe a remix like "promiscuous" style. I agree "Right Now" is a good song, and needs to be released, but it's too late. they were late with "Ride 4 U" and now the album is played out.

Showstopper is over. And Ride For You should've been released like 2 months ago. Point blank.

"Sleep On It"? That song is such a weak song for a single choice. Even with a rapper, it would be a weak single choice. Since Diddy screwed them over by not releasing "Rid eFor You" earlier, (because really, this song was the hit that they needed), now they dont have but a CHOICE to release "Hold Me Down" or "Want It" as their next single, and then "Right Now". Also, if you notice, Shannon doesn't sing on TWO of those songs, and they still haven't found a way to give each girl equal shine.
So yeah, I'm sure they're not gonan reach their full potential unless "Ride For You" magically picks up steam.

Sleep On It maybe weak, but it seems to have peaked higher than Ride For You, but yeah Diddy made them release the 2nd single too late. I think "Sleep On It" would be a good single choice, it's radio friendly and i could def. see people getting down to it in the clubs.
