This is debatable, but a valid opinion. Saying Bad Romance was a "miss" as a song is not. I mean, you said Bad Romance was a miss but Alejandro and Judas were "hits"?
We were talking about Gaga's next era on GagaDaily, and maybe BTW wasn't so ****** after all.
Led Zeppelin's third album was torn apart by critics, but then their fourth album IV is often referred to as their masterpiece. Madonna's third album True Blue is her best selling studio album and she followed that up with Like A Prayer, which is seen as her masterpiece. Britney ripped her audience in half with her third album, but followed it up with In The Zone, which finally gained her critical acclaim. So it definitely goes both ways.
The fourth album era (or third LP for her) is always really a defining moment, along with the album that follows. You're beyond the introduction phase so you need to flex different colors and show you can stand the wind of change as years go by.
What Gaga did with Born This Way was establish that critical acclaim and experimental edge BEFORE her fourth era/3rd LP, so she can actually play it a bit safer and not have to stick her neck as far out as Christina/50 cent/etc. She jumped a step in the usual industry set-up.
She moved way ahead of past artists by fracturing/scaring some of her fans away earlier on in her career, while she had the hype and momentum to rebound. If she did that with a later album, that may have not been the case. (Christina) She probably figured "I can lose some wind and some fans now while the media keeps chasing me around, but who knows where I'll be 2 years from now."
Now, after a rather rocky album era and some backlash, she's still seen as the top bitch in music and can do whatever she wants with her 4th era. That's a great luxury.
I guess we'll see if she utilizes that freedom to make something big out of this next single.
It wasn't that bad it was mishandled and unfocused, but the era in general looking at it now wasn't that bad!
Today has been such a terrible day. I overheard one of my best friends every talking about me behind my back. Lately it seems like Lady Gaga is one of the only people who actually appreciates who I am.
I'm so sorry to hear that . I know it's probably irrelevant since I'm a random person on the internet to you but you're one of my favorite posters in the forum.

Don't let it bother you boo. Gaga would want you to stay strong.~

GagaDaily users, bless their heart, always remaining optimistic.
But everything you/they said makes a good point... I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Well technically BTW was her 2nd album so now we are free to expect much worse.

Thanks And I do appreciate it. I just really loved them. In like a friendly way. They really were someone I loved and looked up to more than anyone else. Also, one of my family members is really unwell. This has been a terrible day.

Thanks Bryan, i'm usually in the 4th alberm discussion as well.
This is why I love ha. She's the best and always takes risks.
Not here for Gaga going to India, sorry Indian monsters
Why? Troy said its an investment in the country because 10 years from now when their music market is more developed and all these other artists are trying to get there the India public will have a loyalty to Gaga, I agree with him 100%
Well technically BTW was her 2nd album so now we are free to expect much worse.
Gaga's release pattern is awkward though - most artist don't release three smash hits and embark on a record-shattering world tour for an EP.
Either way, who cares what Wikipedia thinks about whether TFM is an EP? They contradict themselves anyway. There's a Michael Jackson talk page for one of his albums that has a link to the RIAA's definition of an EP, and TFM clearly fits into the album category, yet WIki doesn't do this for TFM, instead relying on less-trusted sources like MTV.
